A Dream in the Night

One of our field staff working in Asia recently shared this story with us. It demonstrates how strategic prayer is in the transformation of lives and communities.

Three of Talia's family members became followers of Jesus, but Talia had always politely stated that this faith was not for her. She expressed interest during times of studying the Bible, and our sense was that she has the most leadership potential of anyone in her family. In September, we fasted and prayed for 40 days for the people in our area to be open to knowing Jesus.

Every other night, I was awake from 3 - 4 am asking God to give people dreams and visions. About a month after the end of that fast, I was texting Talia.

She shared this dream with me.

She said that an old  man came up to her and said to her, "Somebody is calling you." She stood up and started walking. Surrounding her were her friends and family. All of a sudden, the heavens split into two parts, and Jesus appeared in the sky with two angels. She could feel warmth and heat coming from his body. He stretched out his hand to her, and she could see blood dripping from his hand. He looked at her and said, "Take my hand. I have something for you to do." Then the heavens opened up wider. Talia said that my wife and I and the people visiting her appeared in the heavens with Jesus.

Talia said that she did not know what the dream meant. I was able to tell her again about Jesus’ love and sacrifice for her and that there was a significant calling on her life. Talia is still on a journey of understanding what a relationship with Jesus would look like, but we were amazed and encouraged to see Jesus so powerfully call her to Himself.

What are you praying today?
